Neoga Girls Sixth, Boys Seventh at Monticello Tourney

MONTICELLO -- Neoga High School finished sixth in the girls tourney and seventh in the boys meet at the Monticello Holiday Tournaments Saturday.

The Neoga boys played for seventh place and captured a 59-41 win over Argenta-Oreana. The fifth place contest went to  Tuscola 44, Oakwood 41. Monticello finished third with a 55-32 win over Paxton-Buckley-Loda. GCMS claimed the championship by downing Ridgeview 47-41.

The Indians then fell to Tuscola 48-39 in the fifth place game of the girls tourney.

Tuscola took a 24-17 halftime lead and had a 24-22 second half.

Blair Banning led Neoga with 18 points while Olivia Titus finished with 11. The Indians are now 9-9 on the season.

Stark County downed Argenta-Oreana 50-45 for seventh place. Ridgeview defeated GCMS 51-38 for third place. The championship went to Monticello over Paxton-Buckley-Loda 53-38.
