Windsor/Stew-Stras Nab Victory at Tri-County

KANSAS -- Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg High School opened play in the Tri-County Boys Basketball Tournament with a victory Wednesday.
Windsor/Stew-Stras faced Westville and played to a 10-10 opening quarter tie. The two squads were tied at halftime 32-32 before the Hatchets moved ahead 48-44 going into the final period then had a 21-17 run for the 69-61 win.
Chase Thies, a 6-foot senior, led the Hatchets with 19 points while Beau Bennett, a 5-foot-9 junior, tallied 18.
Windsor/Stew-Stras is now 6-3 on the season. The Hatchets will face Paris at noon today and end the evening against Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond at 7:30.
In other games Wednesday, Tri-County defeated Martinsville 67-48, Hutsonville/Palestine won over Chrisman 58-52 and Paris downed ALAH 52-47.
