NEWTON -- Jasper County picked up two victories over Lawrenceville Parkview in junior high boys basketball play Tuesday.
Jasper County won the seventh-grade game 27-24. Jasper County took an 8-0 opening quarter lead and led 16-6 at halftime. Lawrenceville Parkview came back in the second half with an 18-11 run but Jasper County held on.
Reynolds scored eight points for the winners while Mahffey added seven. Jasper County improved to 5-10.
In eighth-grade play, Jasper County was a 44-34 winner. Jasper County held a 21-18 halftime lead then had a 13-7 third period.
Koebele scored 18 while Schafer chipped in with 15. Jasper County is 8-7.

At Centralia
Altamont Lutheran claimed two victories over Centralia Trinity in action Tuesday.
ALIS nabbed the seventh-grade contest 54-24 to improve to 9-3 on the season.
Lutheran held a 16-3 opening quarter lead and never looked back.
ALIS had three players hit double figures. Logan Cornett and Avery Jahraus had 12 each while Nathan Shepard added 10.
In the eighth-grade contest, ALIS put on a scoring frenzy and claimed a 75-30 victory.
Lutheran led 26-5 after the opening quarter and 46-14 at halftime.
Noah Klimpel and Quinn Verdeyen had 12 points each for the winners while Gage Wendling added 10.

Dieterich picked up the seventh-grade win but Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City was a winner in the eighth-grade contest.
In seventh-grade play, Dieterich broke a 9-9 opening quarter tie with a 5-3 second period then had a 14-8 third quarter.
Britton scored 16 while Kidd added 15 for the winners. CHBC was led by Thies with nine.
In the eighth-grade contest, CHBC took a 17-9 opening quarter and never looked back in a 53-36 win over Dieterich.
Lucas scored 16 and Baylis 10 for the winners. Dieterich was led by Budde with 16.

Stewardson-Strasburg downed Altamont twice in action Tuesday evening.
Stew-Stras won the seventh-grade contest 39-16 to remain unbeaten at 16-0 and is 8-0 in the National Trail Conference.
Stew-Sras led 23-4 at halftime. J. Wittenberg tallied 18 points for the winners. Altamont was led by Phillips with six.
In eighth-grade play, Stew-Stras won 44-33 and stands at 4-10 on the season and 3-5 in the conference.
Wernsing scored 15 and Beals 13 for the winners. Suckow led Altamont with 17.
