Effingham Wins Eighth-Grade Regional

Effingham Junior High School's eighth-grade team will play for a sectional championship tonight.

Effingham Junior High School captured the championship of the Class 4A Urbana Girls Basketball Regional and will be playing at its own sectional tonight.

The Mustangs edged Danville North Ridge 30-29. Schaefer tallied 12 to lead the Mustangs. Effingham is 14-7 on the season.

Effingham will now meet Champaign Jefferson (13-9) tonight at 6:30. The winner advances to the Class 4A State Tournament.
