Eighth-grade girls basketball regionals were contested Tuesday evening.
Class 8-1A Sigel St. Michael Regional
Sigel St. Michael and Dieterich picked up victories.
The Sharpshooters beat Mattoon St. John's 29-6.
In the second game, Dieterich downed Martinsville 23-13.
St. Michael and Dieterich meet at 6 p.m. Thursday for the regional championship.
Class 8-2A North Clay (Louisville) Regional
Casey-Westfield ended North Clay's stay in its own regional Tuesday evening by a 41-27 count.
In the second contest, Neoga downed Oblong 39-15.
Casey-Westfield will now meet Effingham St. Anthony at 6 p.m. Thursday while Neoga takes on Palestine at 7:30. The winners advance to the championship Friday.
Class 8-3A Teutopolis Regional
Red Hill (Bridgeport) ended Jasper County's stay at the T-town Regional. Red Hill won 27-22.
Marshall then downed Lawrenceville Parkview 45-13 in the second contest.
The third game went to Edwards County (Albion) over Robinson Nuttall 24-14.
Thursday's games feature Teutopolis against Red Hill at 6 p.m. followed by Marshall taking on Edwards County at 7:15. The winners will adfvance to the championship Friday.
Class 8-3A Paris Mayo Regional
Paris Mayo downed Arthur in the opening game Tuesday evening, 39-11.
In the second contest, Tuscola East Prairie won over Shelbyville Moulton 48-33.
Paris Mayo faces Tuscola East Prairie for the title Thursday evening.
