St. Anthony, SEB. Dieterich, Neoga Take Boys Cage Wins

Effingham St. Anthony traveled to Sullivan and claimed a 68-17 high school boys basketball victory over the Redskins Tuesday evening.
The Bulldogs edged out to an 11-6 opening quarter lead then went on a scoring binge to push the lead to 36-11 at halftime.
In that run, Adam Levitt nailed four baskets and a free throw for nine points while Alex Deters knocked in two regular baskets and a three-pointer for seven.
The Bulldogs continued their hot scoring with a 24-4 third quarter as eight players scored tallied in the quarter.
Three players hit double digits for St. Anthony. Levitt led the way with 15 points while Jack Nuxoll contributed 12 and Deters 11.
The Bulldogs also claimed the junior varsity game, 61-19.

At Farina
St. Elmo/Brownstown edged South Central 59-58 in National Trail Conference action Tuesday evening.
SEB took a 14-9 opening quarter lead and held that margin at halftime 29-24. South Central clawed back into contention with a 17-11 third period and moved ahead 41-40.
In the final quarter, SEB was hot from the free throw line, hitting nine of 11. Nate Philpot led the way hitting three field goals and five of five at the line for 11 in the quarter. Lewis Brown totaled six points in the quarter with a basket and four of six at the line.
Brown, a 5-foot-9 senior, finished with 23 points to lead the way while Philpot added 17 and Isaac Maxey 11.
South Central was led by Trent Geiler with 15 while Logan Lotz added 13.

Dieterich held a three point lead at halftime then had a 32-19 second half run for a 57-41 non-conference victory over Cisne.
The Movin' Maroons' Callaway Campton was on fire in the opening quarter, scoring 11 of his 20-point total as the Maroons took off to an 18-11 lead. Cisne came back with an 11-7 second period but still trailed 25-22 at halftime.
Dieterich then put on a 13-8 third period before Ryan Radloff scored 10 of his 20 points in the final period 19-11 run.

Neoga had big scoring quarters in the first and third and claimed a 56-42 National Trail Conference win over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Tuesday evening.
Neoga led 13-8 after the opening quarter and had a 19-1 third period.
Three players hit double digits for the Indians. Drew Ramert tallied 15 while Caleb Hill and Clayton Butler scored 11 each.
CHBC was led by Keegan Martin with 12 points.

Marshall came calling and claimed a win over Cumberland in action Tuesday night, 52-45.
Cumberland took the early lead, going out to 10-6 in the opening quarter and leading 20-17 at halftime.
Marshall came back with an 18-9 third quarter and held off the Pirates 17-16 in the final period.
Cumberland had two players hit double digirts, Zach Wolke with 15 and Magee Tyson with 12.
