Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City downed Effingham Sacred Heart twice in boys junior high basketball competition Monday evening.
CHBC won the seventh-grade game 32-20. Sacred Heart held a 9-3 opening quarter lead but CHBC came back with a 14-4 second period run to lead 17-13 at halftime. Both teams scored three in the third period before CHBC went out on a 12-5 final period run.
CHBC was led by Theis with 10 points and Robbins with eight. Sacred Heart was led by Tegler with 11 and McDevitt with seven.
In the eighth-grade contest, 10 players scored for CHBC as the Bobcats won 54-28. Robertson scored 13 and Baylie 10 for the winners.
Sacred Heart was led by Jonathan Zerrusen with 15 and Tyler Feldhake with nine.

At Casey
Casey-Westfield played host to Jasper County and downed the visitors twice.
In the seventh-grade contest, Casey-Westfield was a 36-17 winner. Reynolds scored 10 for Jasper County.
In eighth-grade play, Casey-Westfield won 39-32. Leading Jasper County was Koebele and Meinhart with nine points each.

At Strasburg
Stewardson-Strasburg downed Windsor in seventh-grade action Monday evening, 54-6.
Stew-Stras took a 34-2 first half lead. Three players hit double figures. J. Wittenberg and A. Wittenberg had 13 each while Chaney tallied 10 as the team improved to 8-0.
In eighth-grade action, Windsor was a 41-39 winner. The score was tied at 17-17 at halftime. Stew-Stras edged ahead 34-32 going into the final quarter. Casey-Westfield then had a 9-5 run to pull out the victory.
Wernsing led Stew-Stras with 17 while Kinkelaar added 11 as the team dropped to 1-8.

Teutopolis and Dieterich split victories Monday evening.
T-town was a winner in seventh-grade competition 40-30.
The Shoes were led by Schwerdt with 13 and Bloemer with 12. Dieterich was led by Kidd with 16 and Britton with eight.
In eighth-grade play, Dieterich won 40-26. Budde tallied 15 and Lidy 11 for the winners.
T-town was led by Buehnerkemper with eight and Burrell with five.
