Altamont, Neoga Pick Up Girls Basketball Wins

Altamont handed Okaw Valley a 46-31 loss in girls high school basketball action Thursday evening.
Maddy Ohnesorge led the Altamont attack with 16 points, scoring 10 in the first half as the Indians took a 23-20 halftime lead. The Indians edged farther ahead 31-26 after the third period and had a 15-5 final quarter run.
Danielle Vaughn chipped in with seven points for the winners.

At Louisville
North Clay (Louisville) picked up a 43-37 victory over Dieterich Thursday evening.
The Cardinals led 27-24 at halftime then had a 16-13 edge in the second half. Kortney Stanfield led the winners with 17 points.
Dieterich was led by Katilyn Meinhart with 10 points. Candace Niemerg had eight points and led in rebounds with 16 and had four steals. Courtney Flach and Mallory Vahling had four steals each. Vahling led in assists with five.
Dieterich drops to 7-3 on the season and will be back in action next Thursday hosting Cisne.

Olney came calling and claimed a 53-41 victory over Newton. The Tigers edged ahead 29-23 at halftime. Olney then had a 15-8 third quarter run.
M. Miller tallied 14, K. Shipman 13 and M. Sechrest 12 for the winners.
Newton was led by Morgan Swingler with 12 points. Amy Bierman had eight rebounds and Swingler five. The Eagles fall to 7-3 overall.

The Indians had a 22-2 first quarter lead and it was over almost before it began. Jillian Deters led three players in double figures for the Indians with 17. Olivia Ott and Elecia Thies tallied 12 each.
