The Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Bobcats competed in the Ramsey Seventh-Grade Boys Basketball Tournament and claimed the championship.

In Friday action, CHBC defeated Ramsey 34-24. CHBC held a slight 12-11 lead at halftime but Ramsey came back to tie the score at 22-22 sending the game into overtime.

CHBC then had a 12-2 overtime run for the winning 10-point margin.

In the championiship game Saturday, CHBC defeated St. Elmo/Brownstown 43-28.

CHBC held a 14-13 halftime lead and led 21-17 going into the final quarter then busted loose with a 22-11 run.

Trevor Theis led the way with 16 points while Waylon Watson added 10 and Kenny Robbins nine.

At Decatur

Altamont Lutheran will be playing for the championship of the Decatur St. Theresa Tournament.

Altamont Lutheran defeated St. Theresa 46-20 in action Friday. Lutheran took a 28-9 halftime lead and was never headed. Noah Klimpel tallied 13 for the winners.

In action Saturday, Altamont Lutheran downed North Wamac/Irvington 54-13.

Lutheran held a 26-6 halftime lead. Klimpel scored 12 and Quinn Verdeyen 10 for the winners.

Altamont Lutheran will now play for the championship Tuesday at 7:45 p.m. against Odin.
