Junior High Girls Basketball Results -- Nov. 16

Effingham and Teutopolis split victories in junior high girls basketball action Thursday evening.

The Mustangs claimed the seventh-grade game, 34-10. The two teams played to a 6-6 opening quarter tie before Effingham kept the Wooden Shoes scoreless in the second period to lead 13-6 at halftime. Effingham continued its offensive surge with a 15-4 third period.

Niebrugge tallied 12 for the Mustangs. T-town was led by Emily Konkel with nine. T-town drops to 16-4.

In the eighth-grade contest, T-town came up with a 22-14 victory to improve to 18-2.

T-town trailed Effingham 10-6 at halftime before the Shoes put on a defensive display with a 10-0 third quarter.

Grace Tegeler tallied six for the winners. Sowell and Althoff had four each for Effingham.
