Effingham St. Anthony Junior high School played host to Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City in girls basketball competition Tuesday evening and claimed both victories.
The Bullpups edged CHBC 27-25 in the seventh-grade contest. CHBC took a 13-8 halftime lead but St. Anthony came back with a 10-5 third period to trail 18-17 going into the final quarter then had a 9-7 final period to pull out the win.
St. Anthony was led by Faber with 13 points. CHBC was led by Gracie Heckert with 13 as the Bobcats dropped to 17-4 on the season.
In the eighth-grade contest, St. Anthony was a 39-26 winner. The Bullpups held a 20-14 halftime lead then had a 12-6 third period. Strullmyer scored 12 and Hakman 10 for the winners.
CHBC was led by Jady Wojcik with 11 points. The Bobcats drop to 11-10.
In a sixth-grade contest, St. Anthony won 9-7.

At Pana
Teutopolis claimed two wins over Pana Junior High School Tuesday.
The Wooden Shoes won 28-22 in the seventh-grade. T-town led 18-11 going into the final quarter and Pana came back to knot the score at 22-22, sending the game into overtime.
T-town then had a 6-0 run for the 28-22 win. Emily Konkel tallied 13 for the winners who are 16-3.
In the eighth-grade game, T-town was a 38-18 winner. Macy Probst scored 13 and Izzy Hardiek nine for the Shoes who are 17-2.

At Strasburg
South Central picked up two victories over Stewardson-Strasburg in action Tuesday evening.
South Central won the seventh-grade game 39-31. The winners trailed Stew-Stras 16-13 at halftime then had a 26-15 second half. Arnold scored 13 and Garrett 11 for the winners.
Stew-Stras was led by Vonderheide with 22 as the squad dropped to 1-7 in the National Trail Conference, 4-17 overall.
In eighth-grade play, South Central won 34-21. South Central took a 14-1 opening quarter lead then held off Stew-Stras in the final period.
Smith tallied 10 for the winners while Hayes led Stew-Stras with 11. Stew-Stras drops to 0-8 in the conference, 1-17 overall.

Sigel St. Michael downed Jasper County twice.
St. Michael won the seventh-grade contest 27-11. The Sharpshooters led 16-4 at halftime and had a 11-7 second half.
In eighth-grade play, St. Michael claimed a 33-19 victory.
