Teutopolis Junior High School came calling and handed Effingham two losses in boys junior high basketball action Thursday.

T-town won the seventh-grade game 43-16. The Wooden Shoes took a 22-2 first half lead and that was the game. Caleb  Siemer scored 10 points for the winners.

Effingham was led by Westendorf with four points.

In the eighth-grade contest, T-town picked up a 45-27 victory. T-town led 25-16 at halftime then had a 20-11 second half. Kaleb Bannick tallied 17 and Sam Bushur 14 for the winners.

Effingham was led by Pals and Hardiek with six points each.

At Cowden

Stewardson-Strasburg and Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City split victories Thursday evening.

Stew-Stras claimed the seventh-grade game 35-19 to improve to 2-0 in the National Trail Conference, 5-0 overall. A. Wittenberg and J. Wittenberg scored 12 each for the winners.

CHBC was led by Robbins with seven.

In eighth-grade play, CHBC downed Stew-Stras 43-28. CHBC took a 24-15 halftime lead and held off Stew-Stras for the win. Lucas tallied 12 for the winners while Hilvety added eight.

Stew-Stras was led by Wernsing with 10. The Stars drop to 0-2 in the conference, 0-3 overall.

At Altamont

Altamont Lutheran did some heavy-duty scoring Thursday evening in downing Patoka twice.

Altamont Lutheran claimed the seventh-grade game 56-14. The winners took an 18-4 opening quarter lead and never looked back in winning 56-14.

Avery Jahraus tallied 12 points to lead Altamont Lutheran.

In the eighth-grade contest, Altamont Lutheran again took a big lead, this time 16-2 after the opening quarter and 26-14 at halftime.

Noah Klimpel tallied 21 and Quinn Verdeyen 12 for the winners.
