Bob Kerans, CHBC Girls Tourney Pairings Announced

Pairings for the Bob Kerans Girls Basketball Tournament in Newton have been released. Teams entered are Effingham, Newton, Altamont, Flora and Vandalia.

The tournament opens play Monday, November 20 with two games, runs Tuesday, November 21, Wednesday, November 22 and ends Friday, November 24.

The tournament is a round robin meet.

Game 1 -- Effingham vs. Flora, 6 p.m.

Game 2 -- Newton vs. Vandalia, 7:30 p.m.

Tuesday, November 21

Game 3 -- Effingham vs. Altamont, 6 p.m.

Game 4 -- Newton vs. Flora, 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday, November 22

Game 5 -- Altamont vs. Flora, 5 p.m.

Game 6 -- Newton vs. Effingham, 6:30 p.m.

Game 7 -- Vandalia vs.Altamont, 8 p.m.

Friday, November 24

Game 8 -- Vandalia vs. Flora, noon

Game 9 -- Newton vs. Altamont, 1:30 p.m.

Game 10 -- Effingham vs. Vandalia, 3 p.m.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Thanksgiving Tournament

The Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Girls Thanksgiving Basketball Tournament will be held Tuesday, November 21, Friday, November 24 and Saturday, November 25.

In Pool A are Neoga, Dieterich, Sandoval and Ramsey. In Pool B are Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, Decatur MacArthur and Cumberland.

The games will be played at the high school and junior high school.
