ALTAMONT -- Effingham Junior High School claimed two wins over Altamont in girls basketball action Monday evening.
In seventh-grade play, the Mustangs held an 18-11 halftime lead and went on for a 30-21 victory. Mapes tallied eight for the winners.
Altamont was led by Nelson with 11.
In eighth-grade play, Effingham stepped out to a 14-4 opening quarter lead and went on for a 40-20 victory.
The Mustangs were led by Schaefer with 18 points. McManaway led Altamont with eight.

At St. Anthony
St. Anthony and visiting Robinson Nuttall split wins in action Monday evening.
The Bullpups won the eighth-grade game 45-11. St. Anthony ripped out to a 33-5 first half lead. Wegman and Kabbes scored eight points each to lead the way. The Bullpups are 15-1.
In seventh-grade play, Robinson Nuttall captured a 22-18 win. St. Anthony led 10-7 at halftime but Nuttall came back with a 9-2 third quarter.
Fearday scored 12 for the Bullpups.

At Teutopolis
Teutopolis was a double winner Monday evening over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City.
The Wooden Shoes won the seventh-grade game 29-19 with an 18-8 opening half lead. Emily Konkel tallied 17 for the Shoes who improve to 13-2.
CHBC was led by Mady Wojcik with 12. The Bobcats drop to 15-3 on the season.
In eighth-grade action, T-town led 32-12 going into the final quarter and won 38-17. Izzy Hardiek and Macy Probst scored nine each for the Shoes who are now 13-2.
CHBC was led by Kylie Doty with 11. The Bobcats are 10-8.

Jasper County and Casey-Westfield split wins Monday evening.
Casey-Westfield claimed the seventh-grade contest 25-11. Emma Oldham led Jasper County with eight points and 10 rebounds.
In eighth-grade action, Jasper County was a 35-26 winner. Emma Kidwell, Sydney Dobbins and Ava Kessler provided even scoring with 11 points each for the winners.
