Effingham Sacred Heart and Stewardson-Strasburg split junior high girls basketball wins Tuesday evening.

Stew-Stras claimed the seventh-grade contest 25-8. Stew-Stras took a 15-0 opening half lead. Richards and Mathis tallied six points each. Stew-Stras improves to 3-15.

Sacred Heart was led by Sherrod with four points.

In eighth-grade competition, the Shamrocks picked up a 30-16 win. Sacred Heart held a 13-3 halftime lead and had a 7-2 third quarter. The Shamrocks were led by Karolewicz and Rozine with 11 points each.

Hayes led Stew-Stras with 12. Stew-Stras drops to 0-13.

At Cowden

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City split wins with Pana Sacred Heart Tuesday.

CHBC won the seventh-grade contest 18-9. CHBC scored all 18 points in the first half. Mady Wojcik tallied 12 for the winners.

In eighth-grade play, Pana Sacred Heart claimed a 44-13 win. Pana Sacred Heart led 17-9 at halftime then had a 27-4 second half.

CHBC was led by Lani Morrison with six points.

At Paris

Teutopolis handed host Paris Mayo two losses in action Tuesday.

In the seventh-grade game, T-town was a 35-12 winners. T-town held a 19-11 halftime lead then had a 10-0 third quarter.

Emily Konkel tallied 13 for the Wooden Shoes who improve to 11-2.

In the eighth-grade game, T-town edged Paris Mayo 33-30. Paris Mayo led 14-12 at halftime and 21-18 going into the final quarter. T-town tied the score and in the overtime period, had a 6-3 run to pull out the victory.

Izzy Hardiek scored 11 while Grace Tegeler had nine for the Shoes who are now 11-2.

Jasper County downed Lawrenceville in both seventh and eighth grade games.

Jasper County took the seventh-grade contest 25-9. MacKenzie Miller tallied eight points and Emma Oldham seven.

In the eighth-grade game, Jasper County won 32-23. Ava Kessler and Emma Kidwell scored eight each for Jasper County.
