ALTAMONT -- Altamont and South Central split junior high girls basketball victories Monday evening.
In the seventh-grade contest, Altamont was a 41-21 winner. Altamont zipped out to a 16-0 opening quarter lead and never looked back.
Nelson tallied 12 and Becker nine for the winners.
South Central was led by T. Webster, Shuler, Cowger and Garrett with four each.
In eighth-grade action, South Central picked up a 35-28 win. South Central led 18-12 at halftime and had a 9-4 third quarter run.
L. Webster tallied 15 for the winners.
Altamont was led by McManaway with 10.

At Cowden
Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City improved to 12-2 on the season with a 30-10 win over Sullivan in seventh-grade play.
CHBC roared off to a 20-0 first quarter lead and the game was over. Gracie Heckert led CHBC with eight points.
In the eighth-grade contest, CHBC was a 38-18 winner. Heckert again led the way with 17 points while Lani Morrison added eight. The squad improved to 9-6.

At Strasburg
Okaw Valley came calling and claimed two victories over Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor Monday evening.
Okaw Valley won the seventh-grade contest 19-8, taking an 11-6 opening half lead and outscoring SSW 8-2 in the second half. Kinkelaar led SSW with four points as the squad dropped to 2-15.
In eighth-grade action, Okaw Valley was a 35-26 winner. SSW dropped to 0-12. Weeden tallied eight and Kelly seven for SSW.

Dieterich downed Jasper County twice.
Dieterich won the seventh-grade game 36-13. Leading Jasper County was Alexis Hetzer with five points and eight rebounds.
In eighth-grade action, Dieterich edged Jasper County 41-38. Amber Russell scored 11 to lead Jasper County.
