Sigel St.Michael, Dieterich and Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City all claimed victories in the National Trail Conference Seventh-Grade Girls BasketballTournament Wednesday.

St. Michael handed North Clay (Louisville) a 41-6 loss in the first game of the evening. The Sharpshooters led 21-4 at halftime. Cremens and Fearday tallied 10 points each for the winners while six other players scored.

In the second game, Dieterich ran off to a 22-2 halftime lead and went on for a 37-10 win over Neoga.

Boerman tallied 15 for the winners. Neoga was led by Gresens with four points.

In the final game of the evening, CHBC was a 33-12 winner over Brownstown/St. Elmo. CHBC led 15-8 at halftime then held BSE scoreless in the third quarter to push its lead to 25-8.

Wojcik tallied 12 for the winners. Griggs scored six for BSE.

Tonight's games include Sigel St. Michael against South Central at 6 followed by Dieterich taking on Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City at 7:15 in winner bracket action. In Friday play, North Clay meets Altamont at 6 p.m. followed by Neoga against Brownstown/St. Elmo at 7:15 p.m. in the consolation bracket.
