Effingham St. Anthony nabbed an eighth-grade victory over Dieterich in girls junior high basketball action Monday.

The Bulldogs stepped out to a 32-14 first half lead and went on for the 51-24 victory. Guy tallied 20 points while Clausius added 11 for the Bullpups.

Boerngen had 14 to lead Dieterich.

St. Anthony is now 7-1 on the season.

The Bullpups also won the seventh-grade contest 39-16. Fearday scored 15 and Faber 14 for the winners.

Dieterich was led by Niemerg and Kinnison with six each.

At Effingham

Effingham Sacred Heart claimed a seventh-grade victory over Olney St. Joseph Monday.

The Shamrocks were 15-4 winners. Grubb tallied 10 and Sherrod five for the winners.

No score was listed for the eighth-grade game.

At Sullivan

Teutopolis handed Sullivan two losses. The Wooden Shoes won the seventh-grade game 44-4.

Emily Konkel tallied 10 for the winners who improve to 8-1.

In eighth-grade action, T-town held an 8-4 halftime lead and blanked Sullivan 16-0 in the final period for a 42-15 win.

Jaden Deters scored 12 and Izzy Hardiek 10 for the Shoes who improve to 8-1.

At Cowden

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City picked up two wins over Mulberry Grove in action Monday.

CHBC won the seventh-grade encounter 27-17. CHBC led 23-3 at halftime and never looked back. The winners are now 8-1 on the season. Harleigh Bunch led the way with six points.

In eighth-grade play, CHBC led 25-8 at halftime and went on for a 35-17 victory. Gracie Heckert tallied 14 and Lani Morrison 12 for the winners who are now 6-4.

Jasper County fell victim to North Clay (Louisville) in both seventh and eighth grade play.

North Clay was a 23-14 winner in the seventh-grade contest. Jasper County was led by Emma Oldham and Elley Bennett with four points each.

In the eighth-grade contest, North Clay was a 22-15 winner. Sydney Dobbins had six points for Jasper County.
