Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Junior High School captured two wins over host Okaw Valley in girls basketball action Thursday.

CHBC was a 39-13 winner in seventh-grade play. Gracie Heckert tallied 12 and Mady Wojcik 10 as CHBC improved to 7-1 on the season.

In eighth-grade competition, CHBC was a 36-26 winner. CHBC took a 19-10 opening half lead and had a 17-16 second half.

Heckert led the way with 15 points while Tatyana Duckwitz added 11.

At Strasburg

Stewardson-Strasburg played host to Pana Sacred Heart and fell victim to the visitors in both games Thursday.

Sacred Heart won the seventh-grade game 28-16. Stew-Stras was led by Kinkelaar with six points as the squad dropped to 0-12.

In the eighth-grade game, Pana Sacred Heart was a 36-8 winner, taking an 18-4 halftime lead. Stew-Stras was led by Hayes with six points. Stew-Stras drops to 0-10.

At Paris

Paris Mayo played host to Jasper County and sent the visitors home with two losses Thursday.

Paris won the seventh-grade contest 29-12. Paris took a 21-4 halftime lead. Alexis Hetzer led Jasper County with four points and eight rebounds.

In the eighth-grade contest, Paris Mayo won 36-11. No other information was provided.
