STRASBURG -- Sigel St. Michael claimed the championship of the Stewardson-Strasburg Seventh-Grade Girls Basketball Tournament Saturday.

St. Michael defeated Effingham St. Anthony 25-11. The Bullpups were led by Emma Ashton with four points. St. Michael's NIebrugge tallied five.

Cumberland won over Stewardson-Strasburg 20-11. Stew-Stras was led by Richards with five points.

In the championship contest, St. Michael defeated Cumberland 27-6.

In the third place game, St. Anthony beat Stew-Stras 26-14. Lucy Fearday led the Bullpups with 10 points. Stew-Stras had three players with four points each, Weeden, Vonderheide and Richards.

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis claimed two wins over Marshall Saturday.

The Wooden Shoes won the seventh-grade contest 37-7. The Shoes took an 18-12 halftime score then had a 19-0 second half.

Emily Konkel tallied 16 for the winners. The Shoes improve to 5-1.

In the eighth-grade game, T-town won 43-20. T-town led 17-14 at halftime then put together a 26-6 second half.

Isabella Hardiek scored 17 for the winners who improve to 5-1.
