Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City picked up junior high girls basketball wins over Effingham Sacred Heart Tuesday evening.

CHBC was a 35-9 winner in seventh-grade play to improve to 5-1 on the season. Hallye Morrison led in scoring with eight points while Gracie Heckert added seven.

Sacred Heart was led by Grubb with seven.

In the eighth-grade contest, CHBC took a 32-24 win. The Shamrocks led 11-8 at halftime before CHBC had a 14-4 third quarter run.

CHBC was led by Mady Wojcik with 12 points and Heckert with 10.

Karolewicz led Sacred Heart with seven.

At Altamont

Atlamont handed visiting Vandalia two losses in action Tuesday evening.

Altamont claimed the seventh-grade game 30-12. The score was tied at 8-8 at halftime. Altamont then had a 9-2 third period and a 13-2 final quarter.

Nelson tallied 14 points for the winners.

In the eighth-grade contest, Altamont led 10-4 at halftime and went on for a 29-16 victory. McManaway scored 20.

At Charleston

Teutopolis split victories with Charleston Tuesday.

The homestanders picked up the seventh-grade game 34-28. T-town trailed 21-8 at halftime then made a comeback with a 20-13 second half run only to fall short.

Emily Konkel tallied 12 for the Shoes.

In eighth-grade competition, T-town picked up a 42-12.

Isabella Hardiek scored 12 and Macy Probst nine for the Shoes.

At Strasburg

Neoga came calling and picked up two wins over Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor Tuesday evening.

In the seventh-grade contest, Neoga claimed a 25-16 win. SSW dropped to 0-5 in the National Trail Conference, 0-6 overall.

Richards led Neoga with 13 points. Kinkelaar led SSW with seven.

In eighth-grade play, Neoga was a 34-9 winner, stepping out to a 24-4 first half lead.

Moore scored 10 and Dunn eight for Neoga. Weeden led SSW with three. The squad dropped to 0-5 in the conference, 0-6 overall.

At Dieterich

Dieterich played host to Martinsville and sent the visitors home with two losses Tuesday,.

Dieterich claimed the seventh-grade contest by blanking Martinsville 31-0. Six players scored for the winners led by Niemerg with 10.

In the eighth-grade game, Dieterich picked up a 45-24 win. Dieterich held a 27-13 halftime lead then had a 13-4 third quarter.

Boerngen tallied 25 points for the winners.
