St. Anthony F/S Boys Claim Victories

Effingham St. Anthony played host to Flora in freshman/sophomore boys basketball action Saturday. The Bulldogs picked up both victories.
In the freshman contest, St. Anthony was a 47-35 winner. St. Anthony held a 25-17 first half lead as Grunloh tallied 12 points. The Bulldogs led 35-25 going into the final quarter and had a slight 12-10 run. Grunloh finished with 17 as the only double figure performer for St. Anthony. Ja. Niebrugge chipped in with nine and Je. Niebrugge eight.
In the sophomore game, St. Anthony won 52-43. Flora held a 30-27 first half lead after an explosive 21-11 run in the second quarter. But St. Anthony came out with a 14-2 third period run and went on for the win. Greene tallied 14 and A. Gardewine 12 for the winners.

At Louisville
North Clay (Louisville) split freshman/sophomore victories with Centralia Christ Our Rock and South Central Saturday.
Christ Our Rock Lutheran won the opener 52-32. North Clay was led by Klay VanDyke and Mitch Healy with seven points each.
In the second game, North Clay was a 38-35 winner over South Central. VanDyke and Austin Hartsey tallied seven each for the Cardinals.
