Eastern Illinois Men's Basketball Schedule

CHARLESTON -- Eastern Illinois men's basketball will play thirteen regular season home games and one exhibition game as Panthers head coach Jay Spoonhour released the 2017-18 schedule.

The Panthers return a nucleus of last year's team including four starters in seniors Terrell Lewis, Muusa Dama, Montell Goodwin and Ray Crossland

Fans will get their first look at the 2017-18 squad on Monday, Nov. 6 when the Panthers host Southern Indiana for an exhibition game at Lantz Arena.
 
EIU will then open the 2017-18 regular season on the road when the Panthers travel to Big Ten Conference member Nebraska on Saturday, Nov. 11 followed by a Nov. 15 game Western Illinois.  

EIU then plays two of its next four games at home around the Thanksgiving Week break.  EIU will host IUPUI on Friday, Nov. 17 and Fontbonne University on Friday, Nov. 24.  The Panthers will play road games at San Diego State on Nov. 20 and Marquette on Nov. 27.  

The Panthers open the month of December with a pair of road games at Bradley on Dec. 1 and at Green Bay on Dec. 6.  The final non-conference road game will be played on Dec. 16 at South Alabama.  The Panthers final two non-conference games will be at home just prior to the Christmas Break.  EIU hosts Western Illinois on Dec. 19 and Saint Francis on Dec. 21.   
 
The Ohio Valley Conference slate will be slightly different this season as the league has adopted an 18-game conference schedule adding two additional OVC games from previous years.  The Panthers open OVC play on the road at Murray State on Dec. 28 followed by games at Austin Peay, Morehead State and Eastern Kentucky.
 
EIU then returns home to Lantz Arena for four straight OVC games starting with Belmont on Jan. 11 followed by games with Tennessee State, UT Martin and Southeast Missouri.  EIU will also host Jacksonville State, Tennessee Tech, Austin Peay, Murray State and SIUE at home for conference contests.

The 2018 OVC Tournament will have a new home this season as the league tournament will be played at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana on Feb. 28 to March 3.
