Effingham Sacred Heart hosted Cowden-Herrick in junior high boys basketball action Monday evening and split victories.
Cowden-Herrick won the seventh-grade contest 51-30. Phillips tallied 21 and Watson 12 for the winners. Sherrod scored 12 and Kruger eight for the Shamrocks.
In eighth-grade action, Sacred Heart was down by 11 points after the opening quarter but behind Drew Tegeler's 26 points, outscored Cowden-Herrick 44-23 over the last three quarters to win 51-41. Tegeler was aided by Harrison Smith with 11.
Cowden-Herrick was led by Blackerby with 21 and Nohren with 10.
At Dieterich
Teutopolis came calling and handed Dieterich two losses. T-town claimed the seventh-grade contest 44-11.
In eighth-grade action, Teutopolis was a 71-15 winner.
At Windsor
Stewardson-Strasburg downed Windsor in two games. Stew-Stras won the seventh-grade game 34-17. Kessler tallied 12 for the winners who are now 5-3 on the season.
In eighth-grade action, Stew-Stras won 39-26 to improve to 4-5. Overbeck scored 28 for the winners. Hutchinson scored 17 for Windsor.

At St. Elmo
St. Elmo played host to Beecher City and claimed two victories. St. Elmo was a 35-10 winner in seventh-grade action. Brown led the winners with 16 points. Joseph Galloway led Beecher City with eight.
In the eighth-grade contest, St. Elmo won 37-13. Feezel tallied 11 for St. Elmo. Draven Martin and Dalton Strauch had four each for Beecher City.

Altamont split with Greenville. Greenville claimed the seventh-grade contest 41-32. Greenville led 21-17 at halftime then had an 18-15 second half lead. Altamont was led by N. Brown with 16.
In the eighth-grade game, Altamont won 52-14. Armstrong scored 12 and Finn 10 for the winners who led 38-8 at halftime.

North Clay (Louisville) handed Noble a 49-33 loss. Leading the winners were Quincy Aldrich with 14, Bryce Walker with 12 and Cody Smith with 12.
North Clay improves to 3-1 in the Midland Trail Conference, 3-3 overall.
At Newton
Jasper County defeated Casey-Westfield in two games. Jasper County won the seventh-grade contest 31-26. Cohorst tallied 10 for the winners.
In eighth-grade play, Jasper County was a 41-38 winner. Tim Weber scored 26.
