Nov. 13 Junior High Boys Basketball Roundup

ALTAMONT -- St. Elmo/Brownstown came calling at Altamont Lutheran and picked up two victories in junior high school basketball action Tuesday evening.

The score was knotted at 10-10 at halftime but St. Elmo/Brownstown went on a tear with a 12-2 third period run for a 26-21 victory. Maxey and Brown tallied 10 each for the winners. Whitt led Altamont Lutheran with nine.

In eighth-grade action, St. Elmo/Brownstown zipped out to a 30-10 first half lead and never looked back in a 52-25 win. Kroll tallied 18 while Feezel added 12 and Austin 10 for the winners. Flores led Altamont Lutheran with 14.

At Dieterich

Dieterich claimed the champoinship of its own Seventh-Grade Tournament Tuesday evening.

The Teutopolis B team picked up a 38-9 victory over Newton St. Thomas. In the second contest, Dieterich downed Olney St. Joe 40-32 to win the tournament title.

At Vandalia

Vandalia downed Altamont 41-30 in seventh-grade play. Vandalia took a 15-2 opening quarter lead and led 23-4 at halftime. Casey led the winners with 17 points.

Altamont was led by N. Brown with six.

In the eighth-grade contest, Altamont won 48-26. Three players hit double digits, Shepard with 12, Finn with 11 and Armstrong with 10.
