NTC Boys Athletes Honored At Banquet

Members of the NTC All-Conference First Team in basketball were, left to right, Ryan Armstrong, Sam Childerson, Ryan Radloff, Konner Blackerby, Landon Feezel and Drew Gibson.

The National Trail All-Conference boys baseball, basketball and cross country teams were honored at the annual banquet recently.

Named to the basketball First Team were Drew Gibson (Effingham St. Anthony) who was also named the league's Most Valuable Player, Landon Feezel (St. Elmo/Brownstown), Ryan Armstrong (Altamont), Konner Blackerby (Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City), Ryan Radloff (Dieterich) and Sam Childerson (Altamont).

Second Team members were Cade Walsh (Effingham St. Anthony), Nic Hutchinson (Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg), Mitchell Stevenson (Altamont), Callaway Campton (Dieterich), Trevor Markley (South Central), Aaron Nohren (Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City) and Caleb Hill (Neoga).

Honorable Mention went to Adam Levitt (Effingham St. Anthony) and Isaac Maxey (St. Elmo/Brownstown).

St. Anthony finished first in the NTC with an 8-0 record followed by Altamont 7-1, St. Elmo/Brownstown 5-3, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 4-4, Neoga 4-4, Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg 3-4, Dieterich 2-6, South Central 2-6 and North Clay (Louisville) 0-8.

St. Anthony won the NTC Tournament with a 74-69 victory over Altamont. Third place went to St. Elmo/Brownstown over Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg 64-52.

Coach of the Year honors for basketball went to Effingham St. Anthony's Cody Rincker.

Named to the National Trail All-Conference baseball team were Brandon Puckett (Effingham St. Anthony) who was also named the Most Valuable Player, Nic Hutchinson (Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg), Brandon Repking (North Clay), Trent Geiler (South Central), Matt Goedde (Dieterich), Adam Levitt (St. Anthony), Kaleb Whitt (Altamont), Drew Gibson (Effingham St. Anthony), Ryan Matheny (South Central), Paul Thoele (Dieterich), Greg Utz (Effingham St. Anthony) and Justin Yurs (Neoga).

Honorable Mention went to Cody Grove (Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City), Quincy Aldrich (North Clay) and Chase Thies (Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg).

St. Anthony was first with an 8-0 mark followed by South Central 6-2, Altamont 5-3, Windsor/Stew-Stras 4-4, Dieterich 4-4, Neoga 4-4, North Clay 4-4, Brownstown/St. Elmo 1-7 and Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 0-8.

St. Anthony beat South Central in the NTC Tournament for first place. Dieterich downed Altamont for third place.

The Ken Knop Coach of the Year award went to Curt Jones of South Central.

Representing the  NTC All-Conference cross country team were, left to right, Keegan Martin (Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City) and Jesus Flores (Altamont).

Altamont's Aaron Locke won the NTC Track Coach of the Year.
