All-Apollo Girls Conference Teams Named

Effingham High School had two players earn All-Apollo Conference Girls Basketball Team honors.

Carsyn Fearday, a 5-foot-7 sophomore and Miranda Fox, a 5-foot-6 sophomore, both made the all-conference teams. Fearday was named to the First Team while Fox earned Second Team honors.

Other members of the First Team are Avery Jackson, senior, Mattoon; Sierra Thompson, senior, Mattoon; Aislinn Parrish, senior, Charleston and Alli Davis, senior, Mount Zion.

Second Team honors went to Paige Swango, junior, Charleston; Haley Gregg, senior, Salem; Natalie Snyder, sophomore, Taylorville and Bella Coffey, junior, Mattoon.

Mattoon won the Apollo Conference team championship with a 9-1 record and finished 30-2 overall followed by Effingham, 8-2 conference, 26-5 overall, Charleston, 6-4 conference, 20-7 overall; Taylorville, 4-6 conference, 11-17 overall; Salem, 2-8 conference, 12-19 overall and Mount Zion, 1-9 conference, 10-17 overall.
