Students and staff from Teutopolis High School and Effingham High School present a donation to the HSHS St. Anthony’s Foundation at the Teutopolis Shoes “Whoopin’ Cancer/Pink Out” Basketball Game against Effingham’s Hearts, held January 27 in Teutopolis.  Those participating in the presentation included: (center, back row, left to right) Jeff Schafer, Hearts Coach; Michael Wall, HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital’s Director of Philanthropy; Laurie Thompson, Shoes Coach; and Ashley Davis, Susan Koontz and Tricia Waldhoff, representatives from St. Anthony’s Women’s Wellness Center; surrounded by the Shoes and Hearts players.

The HSHS St. Anthony’s Foundation recently received proceeds from the Teutopolis High School (THS) Lady Shoes “Whoopin’ Cancer/Pink Out” Basketball Game against Effingham High School Lady Hearts, held January 27 in Teutopolis.

The game included fundraisers such as shirt sales from Effingham Lady Hearts and Lady Shoes fans, game night raffle baskets; concessions, 50/50 raffle by the THS Varsity Club, a percentage of gate/admission sales, and funds raised by the Lady Shoes Basketball Team.  All proceeds from these activities were donated to HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital’s Women’s Wellness Center to support breast cancer awareness and education.  The total proceeds raised from the “Whoopin’ Cancer/Pink Out” game and activities were $1,739.
