The Effingham Lady Hearts closed out the regular season with a 53-41 win at Olney Thursday night.

Effingham was led by sophomore Carsyn Fearday, who had what Coach Jeff Schafer termed a "monster game" with 27 points and 13 rebounds.

Schafer said sophomore Miranda Fox also "did a great job" with seven points, 11 rebounds and six assists. He said the Hearts overcame a 3 for 22 night on threes and Olney committing just four turnovers for the game to post the win.

Schafer said junior Shelby Myers got Effingham off to a good start and added seven points and six rebounds.

Effingham finished the regular season with a 24-4 record. The Lady Hearts begin postseason play Wednesday at the Taylorville 3A Regional against either Taylorville or Springfield Southeast.
