Area Teams Still Among Leaders in AP Polls

Effingham, Effingham St. Anthony and Teutopolis are still among the leaders in the Associated Press girls and boys state basketball polls recently released.
In the boys Class 3A State Poll, Effingham is listed in ninth place, moving in from others receiving votes. The Hearts have a 19-3 record and 15 points.
Teutopolis remained in the No. 4 spot in the Class 2A State Poll with a 23-3 record and 90 points.
St. Anthony stands at No. 7, dropping from the No. 2 spot. The Bulldogs are 22-3 and have 66 points.
In the girls polls, Teutopolis is No. 3 in the Class 2A State Poll, moving up from the No. 4 spot. The Wooden Shoes are 24-5 and have 104 points.
Effingham is in the others receiving votes category in Class 3A while St. Anthony is in the others receiving votes in Class 1A.
