T-town, CHBC Pick Up Weekend Girls Wins

Teutopolis High School tallied a 65-58 win over Bloomington Central Catholic in girls basketball action Friday at Parkland College.

The Wooden Shoes took a 20-13 first quarter lead and led 38-28 at halftime. Central Catholic had a 17-10 third quarter run to pull within 48-45 going into the final period.

The Shoes then had a 17-13 final run for the 65-58 win.

Jamie Sandschafer led the way for the Shoes in scoring with 22 points. Jolene Bueker and Sadie Bueker tallied 13 each while Shelby Thompson chipped in with 11.

Raegan Drees led in assists with five. J. Bueker had a whopping 12 rebounds while S. Bueker had six and led in steals with four.

At Dieterich

In Saturday action, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City downed National Trail Conference opponent Dieterich 51-36.

It was the sister show as Coach Carolyn Wendte's crew trailed Dieterich 13-7 after the opening quarter with Coach Donetta Ohnesorge guiding the squad. But CHBC came back with a vengeance in the second period with a 22-5 run to lead 29-18 at halftime.

CHBC held a slight 36-32 lead going into the final period then had a 15-4 run.

Jaelyn Robertson tallied 19 for the winners while Felicia Johnson scored 10.

Dieterich was led by Anna Shadle with 13 points and five steals. Kaitlyn Bloemer led in rebounds with six.
