TEUTOPOLIS -- Teutopolis captured two victores over visiting Effingham in freshman/sophomore boys basketball action Saturday.

In the freshman contest, T-town was trailing at the end of the first quarter 10-9 but took a 22-18 halftime lead. It was all Teutopolis in the third quarter as the Shoes outscored the Hearts 14-2 and then cruised to a 55-37 win.

Luke Ungrund led T-town with 14 points while Mitch Hardiek added 13 and Mitch Hemmen 12. Effingham was led by Colby Utz with 12.

The sophomore game was much closer throughout before T-town took a 56-55 win. Effingham was inbounding the ball with 0.08 seconds remaining. However, the Hearts got off a shot but missed and T-town held on for the victory.

T-town had four players in double figures, Andrew Simmons with 15, Tyler Runde with 12, Lucas Drees and Charles Hoene with 10 each. Effingham was led by Cooper Jackson with 25 and Lucas Hagler with 18.
