LOUISVILLE -- Effingham St. Anthony claimed the championship of the Class 7-2A North Clay (Louisville) Boys Basketball Regional Wednesday evening.

The Bullpups defeated host North Clay 46-28. North Clay held a 7-5 opening quarter lead but St. Anthony had a 13-7 second period to move ahead 18-14 at halftime.

The Bullpups then took total charge in the second half with a 17-5 third quarter and an 11-8 final period.

Josh Blanchette led the winners with 15 points while Kyle Stewart added 10. North Clay was led by Clifton and Weidner with six points each.

St. Anthony moves on to the Findlay Okaw Valley Regional Wednesday, February 1 at 6:30 p.m. against host Findlay Okaw Valley.

Findlay Okaw Valley captured its own regional by defeating Neoga 32-27 Wednesday evening.
