Dieterich Beats South Central, Friday, Saturday Area Boys Roundup

FARINA -- Dieterich came calling at South Central and picked up an 83-64 National Trail Conference victory in boys basketball competition Saturday.

The Movin' Maroons were led by the one-two scoring punch of Ryan Radloff, a 6-foot junior, and Callaway Campton, a 6-foot-1 junior with 29 and 28 points respectively. Devin Flach and Cole Niebrugge tallied nine points each.

South Central was led by Trevor Markley with 20, Trent Geiler with 14 and Logan Lotz with 11.

Friday's Games

Effingham St. Anthony tallied a 55-32 National Trail Conference victory over Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg Friday evening.

The Bulldogs held s 28-12 halftime lead then had a 20-12 third quarter run. Drew Gibson tallied 16 points while Jack Nuxoll added 10 for the Bulldogs who improve to 18-1 on the season, 6-0 in the conference.

Windsor/Stew-Stras was led by Chase Thies with 14 and Christian Kessler with 11. The Hatchets drop to 4-2 in the NTC, 10-8 overall.

St. Anthony won the junior varsity game 71-48.

At Patoka

Patoka captured a 75-67 non-conference victory over Altamont.

Patoka took a 38-29 halftime lead but Altamont came back to pull within 51-48 going into the final period. Patoka then got back on track with a 24-19 run for the victory.

J. Cain tallied 35 points for the winners while three other players hit double figures.

Altamont was led by Ryan Armstrong with 29 points as he hit six field goals, one a three-pointer, and was 16 of 17 at the line. Mitchell Stevenson added 15 and Evan Cornett 10.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City edged South Central 69-66 in a National Trail Conference game.

CHBC led by five at halftime but South Central had a 21-16 run to knot the score at 47-47 going into the final period. CHBC then rallied with a 22-19 run to pull out the six-point victory.

Konner Blackerby led the winners with 20 points while Aaron Nohren chipped in with 22.

The Cougars were led by Trent Geiler with 26 and Trevor Markley with 14.
