GREENVILLE -- It will be an all Effingham championship game as Effingham and Effingham St. Anthony advanced to the title contest of the James Burke Memorial Tournament with victories Thursday evening.
St. Anthony won the opening contest 42-15. No other information was provided.
In the second contest, Effingham handed Greenville a 55-21 loss. The Mustangs stepped out to a 30-12 opening half lead and never looked back.
Tristin Duncan tallied 12 and Parker Wolfe 10 for the Mustangs. Wolfe and Nate Thompson had three steals each. Duncan led in rebounds with five.
Effingham improves to 12-6 on the season and will meet St. Anthony tonight at 7 for the championship.
Salem and Greenville dropped into the third place contest at 6. Troy Triad and Aviston meet for the consolation championship at 5 p.m.

National Trail Conference Tournament
Altamont won the opening contest Thursday over Neoga 49-43 in the National Trail Conference Tournament at Brownstown.
Altamont held a 14-6 opening quarter lead and led 22-13 at halftime. Cripe tallied 18 while Abendroth scored 13 for the winners.
Neoga was led by Johnson with 27 and McClure with 11.
In the second game, Sigel St. Michael defeated St. Elmo/Brownstown 39-21. The Sharpshooters took a 22-10 halftime lead.
Hotze scored 13 and Ruholl 12 for the winners. SEB was led by McWhorter with eight points.
The tournament comes to a close tonight as Dieterich takes on Sacred Heart at 5:30 p.m. for the consolation championship, Neoga meets St. Elmo/Brownstown at 6:45 for third place and Altamont faces Sigel St. Michael at 8 for the championship.

Jasper County and visiting Palestine/Hutsonville split victories Thursday evening.
Jasper County picked up the seventh-grade win 38-25 with three 10 point quarters. Koeble tallied 11 for the winners who improved to 12-8.
In the eighth-grade contest, Palestine/Hutsonville was a 60-32 winner. Palestine/Hutsonville held a 39-28 third quarter lead and had a 21-4 final period.
Zumbahlen tallied eight for Jasper County as the squad dropped to 1-19.
