EHS, T-town Boys, Girls, St. A Boys in Top 10 in Polls

Effingham High School moved into the top 10 in the Class 3A Associated Press boys state basketball poll this week.

The Hearts are ranked ninth with a 13-2 record and 21 points. Morgan Park is the leader in the 3A poll with a 12-3 record and 139 points. Morgan Park tallied nine first-place votes.

Teutopolis is third in the Class 2A state poll. The Wooden Shoes got one first-place vote and stands at 16-1 on the season with 115 points. The Shoes were previously No. 5 in the poll. Quincy Notre Dame holds the top spot with nine first-place votes.

Effingham St. Anthony is No. 3 in the Class 1A poll. The Bulldogs got one first-place vote and is 17-1 on the season with 101 points. They were previously No. 5 in the poll. Quest Academy is ranked No. 1 with seven first-place votes.

Effingham High School is No. 8 in the Class 3A girls state poll. The Hearts are 18-2 on the season and have 34 points. They dropped a notch from No. 7. Chicago Marshall holds the top spot with seven first-place votes.

Teutopolis is ranked third in the Class 2A state poll with a 20-2 record and 96 points. The Shoes remained at the No. 3 spot from last week. Byron garnered 11 first-place votes for the top spot.
