Effingham Sacred Heart and Dieterich picked up victories in the National Trail Conference Eighth-Grade Boys Basketball Tournament Wednesday evening.
North Clay took a 28-25 first half lead but the Shamrocks came back with a 27-21 second half to pull out a 52-49 victory.
Sacred Heart was led by Tegeler with 30 points and Wallace with 13. North Clay was led by Bible with 32.
Dieterich handed Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City a 66-38 loss. Dieterich held a 29-21 halftime lead then had a 13-3 third quarter run.
Dieterich was led by Hunzinger with 15 points, Gephart with 14 and Will with 12. CHBC was led by Lucas with 14.
Dieterich will now take on Sacred Heart for the consolation championship at 5:30 p.m. Friday.

At Newton
Newton St. Thomas handed St. Joe a 45-18 loss in seventh-grade competition Wednesday. St. Thomas was led by Drew Buerster and Ky Bergbower with eight points each.
In eighth-grade play, St. Joe tallied a 42-27 win over St. Thomas. Mason Schafer led St. Thomas with nine points.
