Boys/Girls Freshman/Sophomore -- Jan. 7

TEUTOPOLIS -- Teutopolis hosted Robinson in freshman boys basketball action and came away with a 68-37 victory Saturday.

T-town placed four players in double figures. Mitch Hardiek and Brock Deters both scored 17 and Luke Ungrund and Mitch Hemmen 10 each.

T-town returns to action Monday hosting a freshman basketball tournament. Altamont and St. Anthony will square off at 6 p.m. and Dieterich will face host T-town at 7:30. The tournament continues Thursday with the loser of Monday's games playing at 6 p.m. and the winners at 7:30.

 Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City F/S Girls Tournament

Central A&M won the championship of the Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Freshman/Sophomore Girls Basketball Tournament Saturday.

In opening games, CHBC beat Ramsey 52-31, Pana edged Effingham 23-22, Central A&M downed Robinson 48-30 and Altamont beat Teutopolis 34-22. In consolation bracket play, Effingham beat Ramsey 35-23 and T-town won over Robinson 35-18. T-town then claimed the consolation championship with a 31-26 win over Effingham. Robinson won seventh-place over Ramsey 43-22.

In winner bracket play, CHBC defeated Pana 36-33 and Central A&M downed Altamont 55-51. In the third place contest, Altamont won over Pana 43-33. Central A&M then defeated CHBC 56-34 for the crown.
