Jasper County Junior High School edged Altamont 34-33 in seventh-grade boys basketball action Tuesday.
Altamont held an 8-5 opening quarter lead but Jasper County came back with a 14-9 second period and led 19-17 at halftime. The two teams were tied at 23-23 going into the final period. Jasper County then had an 11-10 final period.
Ben Meinhart tallied 13 and Adam Koeble 11 for the winners. Altamont was led by Suckow with 16.

At Newton
Newton St. Thomas defeated New Hebron 28-21 in action Tuesday.
Leading St. Thomas in scoring were Ky Bergbower with nine and Drew Buerster with nine.
In eighth-grade play, New Hebron was a 36-24 winner. St. Thomas was led by Jamie Zumbahlen with 14 and Mason Schafer with six.
At Dieterich
Stewardson-Strasburg and Dieterich split victories Tuesday evening.
Stew-Stras was a 36-32 winner in the seventh-grade contest. Stew-Stras is now 7-2 in the National Trail Conference, 13-7 overall. Kirby led the way in scoring with 15 points. Dieterich was led by B. Budde with 14.
In eighth-grade play, Dieterich claimed a 42-16 win. Stew-Stras drops to 1-8 in the conference, 1-15 overall. Dieterich was led by D.Will with eight points. Slifer led Stew-Stras with six.
