Teutopolis, Altamont Take A Win Each; Jasper Co., St. Michael Claim Two

TEUTOPOLIS -- Altamont captured the seventh-grade girls basketball victory while Teutopolis was the winner in eighth-grade play Monday evening.
Altamont took a 14-5 halftime lead on Teutopolis and took a 22-17 victory. C. Mayhaus led the winners with 10 points. Marianna Hemmen tallied 12 for T-town. The Wooden Booties drop to 10-5.
In eighth-grade play, T-town was a 41-22 winner. T-town held a 17-12 halftime lead then outscored Altamont 24-10 in the second half. Shelby Thompson scored 16 and Jamie Sandschafer 12 as T-town improved to 15-0. E. Biggs led Altamont with seven.
T-town is back in action Friday at Casey.

At Newton
Jasper County was a winner over Dieterich in both seventh and eighth-grade play Monday evening.
Jasper County won the seventh-grade contest 34-10 by stepping out to a 16-0 first quarter lead. Alexis Cox had 12 points and Abby Frohning 10.
In the eighth-grade contest, Jasper County won 40-12. Ariel Richards scored 17 for the winners.

At Neoga
Sigel St. Michael handed Neoga two losses in action Monday.
St. Michael won the seventh-grade contest 27-16. Leah Jansen scored 10 points for the winners. Lee led Neoga with eight.
In the eighth-grade contest, St. Michael won 32-28. St. Michael led 20-16 at halftime then had to hold off a third quarter run by Neoga. Christy Hoene tallied 16. Padgett led Neoga with 12.
