Bulldogs Hand Robinson Loss, Area Boys Basketball Roundup

ROBINSON -- Effingham St. Anthony High School handed Robinson a 63-46 non-conference boys basketball loss Tuesday evening.
The Bulldogs edged out to a 13-12 opening quarter lead as Alex Deters tallied seven points. St. Anthony then added onto that opening salvo with an 18-13 second period run to lead 31-25 at halftime. Drew Gibson went to work in the second period with eight points.
In the third period, the Bulldogs continued to roll with a 15-8 run and led 46-33 going into the final quarter.
Gibson finished with 22 points to guide St. Anthony. Also in double figures were Adam Levitt with 17 and Deters with 13. Levitt tallied eight in the final quarter.
Robinson won the junior varsity contest 47-39.

Okaw Valley handed visiting Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg a 59-48 non-conference loss Tuesday evening.
WSS stepped out to a 16-8 opening quarter but Okaw Valley came back with a 17-8 second period to lead 25-24 at halftime. Okaw Valley then had a 34-24 second half.
The Hatchets were led by Christian Kessler, a 6-foot-2 junior, with 13 points. Windsor/Stew-Stras drops to 5-3 on the season.
Okaw Valley won the junior varsity contest 38-32.
