SALEM -- Effingham Junior High School handed Salem Franklin Park a 58-33 loss in eighth-grade boys basketball action Tuesday evening.
The Mustangs took a 23-14 halftime lead and never let up. Duncan tallied 20, had four steals and 11 rebounds while Wolfe added 14 points. Briggerman had seven boards.
The Mustangs are now 8-1 on the season.
In the seventh-grade game, Salem Franklin Park claimed a 42-20 win over Effingham. The Mustangs drop to 2-7.
Leading the Mustangs was Volpi with eight points.

At Teutopolis
Teutopolis picked up two wins over Marshall in action Tuesday evening.
T-town was a 35-26 winner in seventh-grade play. T-town took an 8-2 opening quarter lead and had an 11-6 third period run.
The Shoes were led by M. Deters with 13 points.
In eighth-grade action. T-town stepped out to a 17-1 opening quarter lead and handed Marshall a 49-22 loss.
Bushur tallied 22 for the Shoes.

In seventh-grade play, Neoga claimed a 25-15 win over North Clay (Louisville) Tuesday evening.
Neoga held a 19-4 halftime lead. McClure scored 12 and Buescher 10 for the winners. North Clay was led by Logan Fleener with four.
In the eighth-grade contest, Neoga picked up a 43-32 victory. Neoga held a 30-22 halftime lead then held North Clay scoreless in the third period.
Neoga was led by Johnson with 19 and Vaughn with 18. North Clay was led by Ethan Bible with 16.

Jasper County and Robinson split victories Tuesday evening.
Jasper County won the seventh-grade contest 38-13. Jasper County led 21-7 at halftime. Koebele and Meinhart tallied eight points each. Jasper County improved to 5-4.
In the eighth-grade game, Robinson was a 37-28 winner. Geier led Jasper County with 13 points as the squad dropped to 0-9.
