Junior High Girls Eighth-Grade Regionals -- Nov. 28

Class 8-1A Effingham Sacred Heart Regional

Two games were contested on opening night Monday in this regional.

Dieterich picked up a 35-25 win over Cisne in the opener.

In the second contest, Martinsville downed Sacred Heart 31-23. Carie led Sacred Heart with 11 points while Karolewicz added nine.

Dieterich advances to face Sigel St. Michael at 6 p.m. today while Martinsville taking on Oakland Lake Crest at 7:15 p.m. The winners then meet Thursday for the regional championship.

Class 8-2A North Clay (Louisville) Regional

North Clay handed South Central a 37-28 loss in opening round play Monday evening. North Clay advances to face Altamont at 6:15 p.m. Thursday.

The regional continues today with Effingham St. Anthony facing Oblong at 6:15 followed by Brownstown/St. Elmo against Palestine at 7:45 p.m.

Class 8-2A Assumption Central A&M Regional

Assumption Central A&M tallied a 30-15 win over Neoga in the first game of this regional Monday evening.

Nokomis then defeated Findlay Okaw Valley 48-24.

Assumption Central A&M will now meet Stewardson-Strasburg at 6 p.m. today followed by Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City against Nokomis at 7:15 p.m.

Class 8-3A Teutopolis Regional

Three games were on tap Monday evening in the Teutopolis Regional.

Red Hill (Bridgeport) edged Jasper County 25-22 in the opener. In the second game, Lawrenceville Parkview beat Robinson Nuttall 35-17. The final game went to Marshall over Edwards County (Albion) 30-26.

Today's games feature Teutopolis against Red Hill at 6 p.m. followed by Lawrenceville Parkview against  Marshall at 7:30.

Class 8-3A Paris Mayo Regional

Sullivan edged Cumberland 26-25 in the opening game of this regional.

The second game went to Arthur over Shelbyville Moulton 24-21.

Today's games feature Tuscola East Prairie against Sullivan at 6 p.m. followed by Paris Mayo against Arthur at 7:30.
