Junior High Girls Seventh-Grade Regionals -- Nov. 22

Effingham and Effingham St. Anthony captured regional championships in girls seventh-grade basketball Tuesday evening.

Effingham was a winner in the Class 7-4A Mattoon Regional. The Mustangs edged Mattoon 21-20. EJHS now advances to its own sectional and will take on the winner of the Urbana Regional next Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

Class 7-2A St. Anthony Reigonal

The Bullpups won their own regional Tuesday evening.

St. Anthony defeated Brownstown/St. Elmo 45-24. St. Anthony now advances to its own sectional next Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. against either Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City or Nokomis who play tonight for the regional title at Neoga.

 

Class 7-1A Sigel St. Michael Regional

Dieterich and Sigel St. Michael will square off for the championship of this regional tonight.

Dieterich defeated Effingham Sacred Heart 26-19 while Sigel St. Michael won over Oakland Lake Crest 27-21 Tuesday evening.

The winner will advance to the Sigel St. Michael  Sectional next Wednesday against the winner from the Pana Sacred Heart Regional at 6:30 p.m.

 

Class 7-2A Neoga Regional

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City and Nokomis advanced to the championship game of this regional and will meet tonight at 6.

Nokomis defeated Assumption Central A&M 26-16. Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City then won over Neoga 29-18.

 

Class 7-3A Marshall Regional

Teutopolis won the opening game Tuesday evening over Edwards County (Albion) 40-11. T-town led 22-4 at halftime and never looked back.

Macy Probst tallied 14 while Jaden Deters and Izzy Hardiek had eight each for the winners. T-town improves to 20-3 on the season.

Marshall won the second contest over Red Hill (Bridgeport) 45-17.

T-town and Marshall will square off tonight for the regional championship at 5 p.m.

Class 7-3A Arthur Regional

Paris Mayo won the championship of this regional by downing Tuscola East Prairie 28-18. Paris Mayo advances to the Tuscola East Prairie Sectional and will take on the winner of the Marshall Regional, either Teutopolis of Marshall, next Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
