TEUTOPOLIS -- Effingham and Teutopolis split junior high girls basketball wins Thursday evening.

The Wooden Shoes won the seventh-grade game 19-1. T-town led 11-0 at halftime. Effingham scored its lone point in the third quarter.

Macy Probst and Izzy Hardiek tallied eight points each for the winners. Sawyer Althoff had a point for Effingham. T-town finishes its regular season with a 19-3 record.

In eighth-grade action, Effingham took an 11-4 opening quarter lead and went on for a 27-16 victory. Diveley tallied 14 and Armstrong nine for the Mustangs who improved to 10-8. T-town was led by Carly Michels with six as the Shoes finished regular season play at 12-10.

At Altamont

Altamont picked up two wins over Neoga in action Thursday evening.

Altamont won the seventh-grade game 32-17. Altamont held a 3-0 lead over Neoga in the opening quarter and led 13-7 at halftime.

Walker scored 15 and McManaway 14 for the winners. Neoga was led by Dunn with seven.

In eighth-grade play, Altamont claimed a 51-12 win behind the 20 point game of Runge. Altamont took a 12-0 opening quarter lead and led 30-6 at halftime. Mette and McManaway had eight points each. Neoga was led by Phillips with six.

At Beecher City

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City won over Stewardson-Strasburg in seventh-grade play, 36-8. Stew-Stras was led by Hayes and Richards with four each as the team dropped to 1-18.

CHBC was led by Heckert with 12 points.

In the eighth-grade game, Stew-Stras was a 27-21 winner. Megan Nichols and Hayes tallied 11 each for the squad as it improved to 16-5. CHBC was led by Moeller with seven.
