Junior High Girls Basketball Results -- Nov. 3

Effingham and Effingham St. Anthony each picked up a win during girls junior high basketball action Thursday.
St. Anthony was a 26-15 winner in seventh-grade play. The Bullpups were led by Evie Strullmyer and Riley Guy with eight points each. Effingham was led by Schaeffer with seven.
In the eighth-grade game, the Mustangs edged St. Anthony 15-14. St. Anthony held a 9-5 first half lead and led 14-11 going into the final quarter. Effingham then had a 4-0 edge to pull out the victory.
Diveley tallied 10 for the winners. Jacy Boatman led St. Anthony with seven.

At Cowden
Altamont and Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City split girls basketball victories Thursday evening.
CHBC won the seventh-grade contest 29-25. Altamont held a 14-12 halftime lead but CHBC came out with a 13-2 third quarter run to pull out the victory.
Gracie Heckert led the winners with 11 points. CHBC improves to 3-3 in the National Trail Conference, 8-8 overall. Altamont was led by McManaway with 21 points.
In eighth-grade play, Altamont won 39-25. Altamont stepped out to a 27-12 halftime lead. McManaway scored 15 and Runge 13 for the winners. CHBC was led by MacKenzie Bunch with six. CHBC drops to 4-2 in the NTC, 10-6 overall.

At Oblong
Jasper County downed Oblong in both games Thursday.
Jasper County claimed the seventh-grade contest 21-9. Amber Russell tallied seven while Emma Kidwell contributed six points.
In eighth-grade action, Jasper County beat Oblong 33-18. Whitney Zumbahlen scored 14 and Allison Einhorn eight for the winners.
