Dieterich Wins NTC Seventh-Grade Girls Tourney

Dieterich Junior High School captured the championship of the National Trail Conference Seventh-Grade Girls Basketball Tournament Saturday.
Dieterich defeated Brownstown/St. Elmo 25-20 for the crown.
The third place contest went to Sigel St. Michael over Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 30-13. St. Michael held a 14-3 halftime lead and never looked back.
Cremens scored 10 for the winners. CHBC was led by Lani Morrison with four points.
The consolation championship went to Neoga over North Clay (Louisville) 26-12.

At Salem
Effingham and Salem Franklin Park split two victories Saturday.
The Mustangs won the seventh-grade contest 32-4 to improve to 7-2. EHS held Salem scoreless through the first three quarters.
Althoff had eight for the Mustangs.
In eighth-grade play, Salem Franklin Park won 30-21. Effingham was led by Diveley and Armstrong with seven each as the Mustangs dropped to 3-6.

At Teutopolis
Teutopolis picked up two wins over Decatur Robertson in Saturday play.
The Wooden Shoes won the seventh-grade game 29-11 to improve to 10-1. Isabella Hardiek scored 11 while Lauren Cates added seven.
In eighth-grade action, T-town edged Robertson 22-21. T-town held a 15-12 lead at halftime. Robertson came back with a 4-2 third quarter run to pull within 17-16. T-town held on for the win.
Carly Michels scored 10 and Kylie Hoelscher eight as T-town improved to 7-4.

Cumberland claimed an 18-14 victory over Jasper County in seventh-grade action Saturday.
Cumberland held a 13-4 halftime lead then had to hold off a Jasper County second half run.
Ava Kessler and Emma Kidwell had four each for the winners. Cumberland was led by Carr with eight.
In eighth-grade play, Martinsville downed Jasper County 28-23. D. Propst and Parcel had 10 points each for the winners.
Jasper County was led by Whitney Zumbahlen with nine points.
