Effingham Junior High School claimed two wins over Okaw Valley in girls basketball competition Thursday evening.
The Mustangs jumped out to a 22-0 first half lead in the seventh-grade contest and went on for a 35-2 victory. Duncan scored 10 and Ohnesorge nine. The Mustangs are 4-2.
In eighth-grade play, EJHS again had a big halftime lead 20-4 and won 39-11. Two players hit double figures as Diveley had 15 and Armstrong 13. The Mustangs improved to 3-3.

At Altamont
Altamont and Shelbyville split team victories Thursday evening.
Shelbyville was a 22-14 winner in seventh-grade play. Leading Altamont were Berg, Miller and Walker with four points each.
Iin the eighth-grade contest, Altamont held an 18-4 first quarter lead and never looked back in a 54-12 victory.
Runge tallied 13 points in the opening quarter and finished with 23 for the winners while McManaway added 11.

Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor split wins with Pana Sacred Heart Thursday.
Pana Sacred Heart won the seventh-grade encounter 43-18. SSW drops to 0-11 on the season and was led by Hayes with eight points.
In eighth-grade competition, Stew-Stras/Windsor was a 40-15 winner. Mikala Nichols scored 12 for the winners who improve to 7-2.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City nabbed two wins over North Clay (Louisville) Thursday.
In the seventh-grade game, CHBC was a 36-9 winner. Gracie Heckert scored 20 and Mady Wojcik added 10 as the squad improved to 2-2 in the National Trail Conference, 4-3 overall.
In eighth-grade play, CHBC was a 32-22 winner and is 4-0 in the conference, 6-1 overall. Madison Cherry led with 14 points. North Clay was led by Lovett with 14 points.
