Vandalia captured an eighth-grade girls basketball contest over Effingham Sacred Heart Thursday evening. Vandalia was a 28-11 winner.

The Shamrocks were led by Katie Carie with three points. Four other players scored two points each.

At Sacred Heart

At Effingham

Effingham fell to Taylorville in both contests Thursday.

The Mustangs lost the seventh-grade contest 22-11. Bushur tallied six points for the Mustangs as they drop to 2-2.

In eighth-grade play, Effingham fell to Taylorville 30-16. Diveley scored 10 for the Mustangs who are now 1-3.

At Strasburg

Dieterich and Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor split victories Thursday.

Dieterich claimed the seventh-grade contest 32-18. Meinhart led the way in scoring with nine points. Hayes led SSW with 12 as the squad dropped to 0-6 in the National Trail Conference, 0-7 overall.

In eighth-grade action, SSW was a 35-4 winner. Hayes scored 14 as the squad improved to 4-2 in the conference, 5-2 overall. Locey led Dieterich with two points.

At Teutopolis

Teutopolis handed Lawrenceville two losses. The Wooden Shoes won the seventh-grade game 35-2.

Isabella Hardiek scored 10 while Macy Probst had eight and Lana Jansen seven for the winners who improve to 5-0.

In the eighth-grade contest, T-town won 32-24. Carly Michels scored 17 for the winners who are now 2-3.

Sigel St. Michael and Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City split wins in action Thursday.,

St. Michael was a 28-19 winner in the seventh-grade contest. Schumacher and Fearday scored 10 points each for the winners. Gracie Heckert led CHBC with six as the squad dropped to 3-3.

In eighth-grade play, BCCH was a 33-26 winner to improve to 5-1. Carsen Burks scored 11 for the winners while MacKenzie Bunch added nine.

The Sharpshooters were led by Jones with 10.

At Altamont

North Clay (Louisville) came calling and edged Altamont 17-16 in the seventh-grade game Thursday.

North Clay held a 6-4 halftime lead then had a 9-6 third period. Lappendorf tallied four for the winners. Walker led Altamont with eight.

In the eighth-grade game, Altamont shot out to a 24-6 halftime lead and went on for a 46-11 victory.

Altamont was led by Runge with 28 points and Mette with 11. North Clay was led by Lovett with nine.

Jasper County fell to Red Hill (Bridgeport) in the seventh-grade contest 16-9. Amber Russell led Jasper County with six points.

In the eighth-grade contest, Jasper County was a 17-10 winner. Whitney Zumbahlen scored seven.
