Effingham St. Anthony and Altamont split girls junior high basketball victories Monday evening.

The Bullpups won the seventh-grade game 24-5. St. Anthony had a 14-4 halftime lead and held Altamont scoreless in the third period. Guy tallied 12 points for the winners.

Altamont was led by Walker and Hassebrock with two each.

In the eighth-grade contest, Altamont claimed a 31-4 win over St. Anthony. Altamont held the Bullpups scoreless in the first and final quarters and took a 25-2 halftime lead.

Altamont was led by Runge with 13 points. St. Anthony was led by Clausius and Boatman with two each.

At Effingham

Sigel St. Michael claimed two victories over Effingham.

The Sharpshooters won the seventh-grade game 18-15. Cremmens tallied eight to lead the way. Effingham was led by Buscher with eight.

In the eighth-grade contest, St. Michael won 38-31. Bueker scored 15 while Niebrugge tallied 14 for the winners. Diveley scored 15 for the Mustangs.

At Pana

Stewardson-Strasburg/Windsor and Pana split wins Monday evening.

Pana won the sevneth-grade game 30-2. SSW didn't score until the final quarter when Koontz hit a basket.

In the eighth-grade matchup, Stew-Stras/Windsor was a 28-20 winner. Megan Nichols tallied 15 for the winners who improve to 2-0.
